The Grand Hotel Atlantis Bay is located 200 meters from the cableway that connects Taormina Mare to the center of Taormina. Here, in addition to the famous Greek theater, where a wealth of performances are organized, there are many more or less hidden spots to visit. These are the principal places to see:

The Cathedral (Church of San Nicola)
Built around 1400 on the ruins of an ancient church, the cathedral, with its Gothic style, looks like a fortress. The building is in the form of a Latin cross with three naves, and the ceiling features wood carved in the Arab style.

Church of Saint Pancras
Saint Pancras is the patron saint of Taormina; the church was built on the ruins of a Greek temple around the middle of the 16th century. The interior, in multicolored marble and Taormina stone, houses a beautiful fresco depicting the martyr St. Pancras.

Regional Archeological Museum
The museum is a collection of archeological pieces found between 1984 and 1998. The exhibition is on two levels and includes ancient artifacts such as sculptures, ceramics, pieces of the ancient theatre, pottery, an alabaster urn and a Byzantine sword found in the water near Isola Bella.

The Antiquarium
This is a small museum located in the home of the caretaker of the ancient theater. There are not a great number of archeological artifacts housed in the Antiquarium because most of the pieces found during the excavations were taken to museums in Naples, Syracuse and Messina. Artifacts of note include several marble statue bases with ancient inscriptions, carved columns and a marble sarcophagus.

Sicilian Museum of Art and Folk Traditions
Located in Palazzo Corvaja, this museum displays pieces of Sicilian figurative and handicraft art created between the 16th and 20th centuries. Items include wooden sculpures, ceramics, Sicilian carts, and playbills from puppet shows.
